A pair of cricket stumps

Response to civil unrest

Everyone at Chance to Shine has been shocked and appalled by the scenes of violence and disorder across the United Kingdom over the last few days.

Our work focuses on cricket’s power to unite communities; celebrating differences, diversity and allowing young people to flourish together in safe and secure environments.

We are aware of at least one Chance to Shine Street club that has had to postpone a session due to safety concerns for their participants. No child should be made to feel like they do not belong in our society.

We also echo the devastation and sorrow caused by the unspeakable attack in Southport. We must stand against hate in all its forms.

Our top priority remains ensuring the safety and security of everyone involved in Chance to Shine programmes, and we will continue to support our delivery partners in any way we can.
