FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Chance to Shine Street clubs are free, local cricket sessions for young people aged 8–24. They’re a place to play cricket, have fun, make friends and develop your skills. It doesn’t matter whether you play regularly or have never picked up a bat before.

Every Street session is a little different. Our expert coaches adapt sessions to suit the young people taking part, so they can be fun and informal, while also including more traditional coaching, activities, games and competition. We usually play with soft or tape balls, plastic bats and stumps, so it’s easy for everyone to get involved.

Complete the registration form and your local Street club will get in touch to confirm the details and let you know what happens next. Session times and locations can sometimes change to suit the needs of the local community, so it’s always best to register before attending.

You don’t need to bring any cricket equipment. Just wear something you’re comfortable being active in and come ready to get involved.

Street is open to young people of all abilities, whether you play regularly or have never picked up a bat before. Most sessions are mixed, with some Girls Only sessions also available. Where a session covers a wider age range, our coaches will make sure activities and groups are appropriate for different ages, so everyone gets the most from the session.
