Carlos Brathwaite & Felix White visit Hackney School

It’s National Cricket Week Day 2! We had such a great time today when Former Maccabee and Tailenders podcaster Felix White joined with West Indies cricketing legend Carlos Brathwaite to meet pupils from St Paul’s with St Michael’s Primary school, Hackney taking part in a special cricket assembly, before giving it a whack in some individual cricket sessions.
This project is a great example of how Chance to Shine sessions give young people access to the game who might not usually get the chance to play – over 57% of pupils at this school are eligible for free school meals.
During National Cricket Week we’re celebrating how cricket can be a game for everyone, aiming to inspire young people through a week of cricket-themed activity – in the classroom, playground and communities across the country.
If you’d like to get involved, check out the National Cricket Week Hub on our School’s Portal. You’ll find a wealth of fun FREE cricket teaching resources and lesson plans, just sign up to get access.
