Chance to Shine partner with Premier Foods to support Schools programmes

Chance to Shine are delighted to partner with Premier Foods, a leading UK food manufacturer. Premier Foods are supporting state primary school programmes across England and Wales, to help give young people the opportunity to learn, play and develop through cricket.

Their Summer of Cricket campaign has already supported 10,000 hours of coaching for children in state primary schools through the Chance to Shine schools’ programme.

During the professional coaching sessions, pupils were taught key cricket and physical skills in a fun, friendly environment. The sessions help children and young people build resilience, develop social skills, and cultivate a love for the game.

The partnership has already been a wonderful success according to Robert Craven, Customer Controller Wholesale & Convenience at Premier Foods: “At Premier Foods we know that giving back to communities is a top priority for retailers, and by working with Chance to Shine this year we’ve giving them a great way to do just that – by helping Chance to Shine achieve its mission of giving every child access to sport, regardless of their background.

“This year we’ve not only giving retailers the opportunity to win a truly unique experience for themselves, but their local community too.”

This is a sentiment echoed by Chris Baker, Chance to Shine’s Head of Fundraising: “At Chance to Shine we strive to give young people the chance to play cricket no matter their background. With Premier Foods’ support, we can keep providing opportunities, so more children and young people can experience the benefits our programmes provide.”

With the support of Premier Foods, Chance to Shine are thrilled to provide opportunities for children who otherwise may not play the game. As this partnership develops, it’s sure to make a difference across UK communities.
